I watched this last night and have to say what a really cool film, one that I need in my collection. Very much in the same style I thought as EasyRider but I enjoyed this even more.

Spoiler alert: what did confuse me a little was, Was it the police that beat up Supersoul and his engineer? Why? did they just want the chase to end or something or were they just venting their anger on them because they were black?

I'm shattered from staying up till 00:50 on a work night but the film had me hooked.

    Cheers, Mylo

I though it was because he was helping him.

that was my first thought, but I wasn't sure if it was the police that did it. The end broadcast would suggest that he was being instructed though I suppose.

First time I've seen it. To be honest, the only reason I was aware of the film was because of Audioslave's music video for 'Show me How to Live', which my dad pointed out was based on this film :)

So it was interesting for me to see all the similarities between the two.

Good film, very much in the style of Easy Rider. Niiiice car :)

what the fact this was made the same year I was born ;)

Fantastic film, better than most of todays efforts at making a car film. :lesson:

I found the film cheapest at dvdimport.com, have you used them before?

nope. not yet. might change that soon though ;)

Region 1 definitely seems the way to go; both the UK and US versions of the film and a commentary for about a fiver... I'm curious about the US cut now, never knew there was a different version for the uk before so I'm beginning to feel my life won't be complete until I check it out
Don't you just hate it when that happens? :zonked: :suicide:

Well I couldn't resist any longer  order placed for The R1 containing the English & American version from 'dvdimport'.
I wonder what the differences are as well, looks like I'll have to watch the film twice to find out  I'll keep you posted.

Rambo John J good news, received an email today from dvdimport, my disk is on route. Two versions of the film shipping all the way from CA for the princely sum of £5.48   don't you just love internet shopping.

I have watched both versions of the film now and tried it with the commentary on as well, all in one night

The UK edit of the film has an extra chapter, not on the US cut, that fits well with the rest of the story and (SPOILER) explains where Kowalski spends the time between phoning his friend and the end chapter of the film.

The commentary didn't really add very much to the film as the director was trying to remember what he did 20 years ago and tends to ramble on a bit. It did explain what they were trying to achieve like making the car the real star of the film.

All in all the UK version of the film really worked for me and is well worth the silly price I paid for it.

    Regards, Mylo
