There's little mention of this movie on the forum so far, so I thought I'd share the good news! If you haven't seen this movie and you like gross-out comedies, you must see this!! I actually had to turn it off after about 45 mins to give me a chance to breathe, I was laughing that much! I haven't laughed this hard at a movie for ages :smashin:

I'd love to share some moments with you, but spoiler etiquette forbids it. All I will say is, watch out for Van Wilder's dog  :rotfl:

Screenshots of animated menus are here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72865

Who else has seen it? :D

    I have.
Not something I'd smile about though.
Having said that, I thought it was better than everything the Farrelly bros have ever done.

Absolutely fantastic. You get so much here, it's unbelievable. From deleted scenes, through to music promos, even cast appearances on US TV shows (one of which is a cookery show that looks a bit like Ready Steady Cook :D )

    Great value :smashin:

Rented it from Blockbuster - imagine my horror to find it was only in stereo - no 5.1

    Highly enjoyable anyway.

R1 is in 5.1 :D but it seems R2 and R4 are merely in stereo. Odd.

Glad you enjoyed it anyway :)

Showed this to the girlfriend tonight, she liked it although she had to walk away at one point.....

Probably shouldn't have given her that chocolate eclair before the film :)

    Hi,

Saw this over weekend, in my opinion it was average. If it wasnt for the indian guy, it would have been poor. Had 2 or 3 scenes that were funny. I think I need to be drunk to find it really funny.

The picture quailty was very average, soft and background artifacts, compared to the sharp and clean print of Collatoral Damage which I also saw.

    So there you go.

You're right - Van Wilder doesn't have the best transfer in the world but it's better than most and very watchable. Really, it's the kind of transfer you get with films of this kind (comparable to the American Pie transfer IMO).

I'd hardly call Collateral Damage "sharp and clean" though! I saw the R1 one and it was a very average transfer indeed, if that, with grain, muted colours, and lack of detail IIRC.
