My new V635 has developed a fault - whenever I try and enter a text message the phone locks up. The way to unlock it is to remove the battery!

Anyone else had the same problem?

No, how long have you had the phone? Got one for my son about 1 month ago now - he's a major league texter :D but no reported problems yet.

I took it into the O2 shop on Saturday (originally bought online from O2); they said I had to call customer support at O2. So I got home and rang O2 customer support and they said just take it into the O2 shop and they will either replace it or send it off for repare!

I also had a SE S700i on a contract for my other son. This developed problems with text messages as soon as he got it. After contacting O2 they managed to sort the problem but did actually state that if we returned the phone within 28 days they would replace it. After the 28 day period the phones go back for repair.

If you are still within the 28 day period do not let them fob you off by offering to replace your sim etc - insist on a replacement. If you are outside the 28 days they will offer to repair it. Only after approx 3 failed repair attempts will they eventually replace your phone.
