V+ box to packard bell viseo 230 dvi to hdmi - input not supported???

Hi ive searched hard online and cant solve this issue i have a packard bell viseo 230ws and a virgin media v+ box. i ham trying to connect using a hdmi to dvi cable. the input on my pb is dvi. I was advised to purchase a dvi to hdmi adaptere to get it working as all i get through the dvi to hdmi cable is "input not supported" . has anyone had any oy connecting this way. ive tried playing around with the settings of the box but no luck so far. please help it would be hugely appreciated. audio isnt an issue as i can connect dssome speakers once its working...

75Hz - the V+ box will be looking for 25Hz.
 
so is there any way around it or will it just plainly not work at all?
