I bought a graphics card with the intention that it could output UXGA for connection to a plasma.

I can adjust the screen resolution to beyong 1600x1200, but is this UXGA or is it still VGA?

The resolution naming got out of hand above SVGA, I've no idea even IF there's an offical name for such higher resolutions. :) By its' definition VGA is 640x480, SVGA is 800x600 and XGA (AFAIK) is 1024x768 .. beyond that your guess is as good as mine, UXGA seems a possible candidate, but what about 1280x1024, or 1280x960, or 1280x720 .. see, it gets kind of impossible to give names to each and every 'standard' resolution.

What makes you ask?

A few for ya.

CGA = 320 x 300
EGA = 640 x 350
VGA = 640 x 480
SVGA =800 x 600
XGA = 1024 x 768
SXGA = 1280 x 1024
SXGA+ = 1400 x 1050
UXGA = 1600 x 1200
QXGA = 2048 x 1536
QSXGA = 2560 x 2048
QUXGA = 3200 x 2400

Widescreen resolutions

WXGA = 1366 x 768
WSXGA+ = 1680 by 1050
WUXGA = 1920 x 1200
WQUXGA:lesson: = 3840 x 2400:eek:
