I heard this was possible. I have the play and plug kit, which comes with a USB cable, however, the hardware is not recognised.

    Any ideas?

AFAIK it's only possible to use the wired version of the controller. The wireless model, even when connected via the Play & Charge kit, is not compatible. There were some rumours that MS was planning to add support for it - but I've heard nothing since.

That's pretty dumb, and unfortunate. They want you to buy the most expensive model, yet only the cheaper model works? Madness :)

    Thanks!

I guess they thought that most people would want the wireless controller for their 360's so they needed another selling point for the wired controller ie pc compatability.
