Does anyone know if the Pioneer 435 FDE can control a Pioneer Amp and 868 player via the TV's infra red input? I plan on having the amp and dvd hidden away in a cabinet with just the TV on show, and use the learning remote that comes with the amp to operate everything.

Now, from what I can gather from the 'compare' section of the XDE and FDE on Pioneer's website, the FDE lacks the 'SR+' system that I (think) is the method of linking Pioneer kit together to function as one.

Has anyone tried this, or am I speaking mumbo jumbo?!

Reading the FDE manual, it doesn't look like the media box supports SR or SR+ (either of which would do what you are looking for) so it sounds like your out of luck.

Oh well, that's clarified that then! It's one of my main reasons for getting the XDE now, for each of use. Thanks for sorting that one for me.
