Using painted wall as the screen ?

hi all

Im trying to sell the idea of a projector in our living room to my wife... need help :)

Is it viable to use a wall as the screen instead of a pulldown screen ?

What would be the disadvantages to this and would you use matt/silk or gloss finish ? I assume it would have to be white or very close to white.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes its viable and can give some excellent results.
For the first week after receiving my Pany300 I was using the room wall which is a cream colour.

Lord of the Rings with flash so you can see how it was projecting, the thing you can't see is the ironing board that the projector was sat on :D

And without flash..

Have now made a screen etc so I'll get round to posting some pictures.

But the bottom line is if you dont want the hassle of a screen then yes a painted wall can give great results.
