    hi,

I just bought an Amazon Fire Stick - all works well but I forgot one thing: that my Viera runs to my Sky HD box and then into my amp. The 'speakers' on the Panasonic are useless which will make movie watching dull to say the least. Is there any way to set this up and make use of both Sky and Amazon using the amp?

I also have HDMI splitter taking Sky through to the kitchen but I don't think that will make a difference.

    thanks in advance,

    Cal

Any tips on how I can get this set-up to work (ie connect the Fire Stick up to the AV receiver/speakers without disconnecting the Sky HD box?).

What AV receiver do you have?

Plug the fire stick into the receiver? Or plug fire stick into TV then run HDMI in the ARC input back to receiver or go optical from tv to reciever

Hi, its an old Panasonic VSX - no HDMI.
I think I'll get a Soundbar to replace the receiver...

Could you explain the 'ARC' comment (sorry)?
I didn't think you can plug the Fire Stick into anything other than the TV

List the make and model number of the TV, Amp and Sky box and outline how they are currently connected.

    Hi Joe,

    Pan Viera TX-P42
    Sky+HD
Pioneer VSX-C402 running old 5.1 Canton speakers
Also have a HDMI cable running from the Sky box to a second Panasonic TV
    and now a Fire Stick...

Now thinking of getting rid of the receiver and speakers and just buying a Panasonic SC-HTB488EBK or similar but again - I don't know if this would work without another purchase

    thanks, Cal

You ‘need’ a New TV (or a different Streaming device) not a new Sound system.

    Oh...I wasn't expecting that.
The TV has 4 HDMI including an ARC and 2 USB ports - I'm not going to (be allowed to) replace that already.
There must be another way to get a Fire Stick added to this group of TV, Sky+ and a new soundbar? No?

TV - what is the model number (needs to be the full model number).

TV - if you have HDMI Inputs on the TV connect the Firestick to that and then use Optical Out of the TV to your Sound system.

As above connect your Sources via HDMI to the TV then Optical Out of the TV to your Sound system.

Maybe a HDMI switch audio extractor will help?
