    Hello folks,

I have a Rel Q100e subwoofer and want to add a second subwoofer, i would have liked to use a second Rel Q100e but these are no longer made and would only be able to get 2nd hand but even then they are like gold dust.

so, would using a differant Rel model sub be ok or would that make the sound a bit off?

    thanks

kit: Rotel 1068, 3 Crimson 100w monblock amps, Crimson 100w stereo amp, Rel Q100e, Sony 930 dvd player, Rotel cd player, Sanyo plv Z2 projector, 32" tv, 2 pairs of AVI Nu Nuetrons speakers, B&W CC6 center speaker.

You don't have to be so picky with subs when tonal matching them and in theory any sub of similar quality will do. Bear in mind it isn't always easy to integrate two subs and if you get the positioning wrong you could end up with less bass and not more but there will be help on offer here as a few are running twin (or more) subs and normally helpful.

Another alternative would be to sell your Q100 and buy a single more powerful sub.

so how many people have got 2 or more subs in their set up and what worked best for placement (either end of room or either side of av rack for example).

    thanks

Scan ebay for a couple of weeks. They appear quite frequently.

Many of us have 2 subs but each set up is different, so where mine sit is of little help. You need to look at room dimensions etc. I would sell your 100e and buy something better much better route.
