Anyone know of a USB sound card that has a minijack SPDIF output? I have an Abit one that has optical outputs but I have run out of iptical inputs on the reciever.

I have a PC upstairs that has audio and video files on it and I want to stream them over the network downstairs to my laptop which has a TV output. I find the audio output of the laptop a bit naff though so would like a dedicated USB device. SOme video files I have have AC3 soundtracks and although I can convert them on the laptop to stereo, the mix is always appaling so I would rather stream them straight through as AC£ to my amp.

    Any ideas?

Have you looked at the Audigy 2 NX .
Looks like a nice bit of kit and retails for around £99.

I agree, I believe the NX does include a coax out. I tried to post a link to the relevant Creative labs page but it does not work.

    Steve

Search the knowledgebase on the Creative labs site for the Audigy 2 NX and you should come across a link concerning "connectivity". This clearly appears to show a coax SPDIF out.

You can see the full spec on Creatives website HERE
It supports coaxial and optical out.
