A question that is asked at least twice a month. Try a search on "usb"

The USB has no customer function at present and is unlikely to have one. On some boxes there is actually power on the socket and can be used for charging ipods etc BUT that is all. The socket was originally designed to be used with portable media players but was dropped because of rights issues.
