Does anyone know where I can buy a PC card (eg PCI based) which will give me USB 2.0 ports, and will there be bottleneck/compatibility issues with my old Pentium-2 motherboard?

I'm interested in buying an external DVD recorder for my PC, but it connects to a USB 2.0 port whereas my old PC only has USB 1.1, which is why I want the mentioned expansion card.

    Thanks.

Bought one from maplin.co.uk. Payed a slight premium for the extra 3 front slots which fits in a floppy drive pay, giving 5 USB2 ports in total. I'm sure they'll be useful one day!

    regards,
    Rob.

    or try:

    www.ebuyer.co.uk
    www.dabs.com

USB2.0 PCI card should cost you around £15 - £20 all in.

As long as your P2 is running Windows 98SE or later you should have nop problems with USB2.0
Check the specs of the DVD encoding/writing software though as this may struggle on a P2.

A friend of mine has just bought one of these (pretty sure it's that one anyway - similar price at least! :)

A useful upgrade if you also think you may require firewire at some point in the future :)
