Atleast the protest in London have not yet turned to senseless looting.

A perfect storm.
The familiar story of an unarmed black man being gunned down but this time by white vigilantes. Meanwhile the state prosecutor deliberately tried to cover it up. The Covid 19 lockdown has stressed people out and people are loosing their jobs. Of course it didn't help when the elites were seen breaking those same restrictions. Then in front of the cameras for the world to see , an unarmed black man, was asphyxiated by a knee across his throat, with the murderer looking directly into the camera.
Surely George Floyd was just an unarmed man (and suspect) rather than an unarmed black man, is there any evidence he was killed due to racial motives?

No disrespect to you, but I hate that phrase.

Laws change all the time - what was once unlawful can become lawful (like homosexuality).

Lawful killings feel like a closing of ranks and a cover up by the Establishment and this is a classic example:

But I agree, I also hope things don't escalate here too.
Sorry but that was the outcome, it was lawful, my point was that if people rioted over lawful police actions then I hope things don't escalate over the George Floyd incident which appears not to be lawful

It's about an attitude, a fear, a predisposition to attack first, ask questions later.

Seeing that statue being thrown into the harbour makes me forget about racism altogether and just worry about how messed up society has become if this is what the younger generation finds acceptable.

Does that video give any evidence of George Floyd's death being due to racial motives?

Most of the younger generation seem to be messed up in the head.

They suffer Anxiety attacks, take anti-depresents, have no gender, approve socialism and think that destroying statues is acceptable.

Do they see themselves acting like this when they reach their 30's, 40's or even 50's? They are pathetic, and so are the people who support this sort of behaviour.

So much anger and destruction for something that has happened in another country, which seems for some as an excuse to go out and cause as much damage as possible.
I wonder if, when this is over, the same protesters will vent their frustration and anger at the Saudi and Chinese governments.
The protests have resonated here is because people recognise that the UK has its own struggles with race.

With regards to the governments of Saudi Arabia, China, Russia etc, nobody expects them to play nice. It's fairly explicit (and implicit) that the views of the respective governments on race and a multi-ethnic society markedly differ from the UK.

If you say you're fine to treat people the same regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, age, level of education, socio-economic status etc, then in a liberal democracy, it's expected that we hold people here to the claimed standard.

It gives all the evidence of his death being due to racial motives. I made it even simpler by explaining it in the same post.
A known criminal with a history of gun related violence....
What? Amber Ruffin is a known criminal with a history of gun violence?
I assume you mean George Floyd? So let's say that is true? So what? And why do I have to keep asking this question?

Imagine if an untrained version of the US army was policing the streets. No need to imagine, the US police are an ill-trained, un-educated para-military force.

Nothing justifies that officer's actions. Absolutely nothing!

Would you be saying the same if a white boxer was saying the same or a white boxer saying to boycott black boxers fights? I doubt it very much.

Having spent a fair few quid watching joshua in the ring, he's just lost my support.
Like this one perhaps? Would love to hear your thoughts on him, his rehab, his current high standing with boxing fans, of which you are evidently one (I'm not especially).

What evidence? Has anyone been tried before a jury and convicted and that it was racial?

Clutching at straws now. You still didn't answer.

I still disagree.

This is the Wikipedia account of the Mark Duggan shooting:

If you scroll down to the section entitled, "Shooting", you'll find many conflicting accounts so it's not exactly a clear cut case of the action being "lawful".

And then there's this farcical scenario:

Amazingly, no one lost their jobs.

The Police do a difficult job in very challenging circumstances and they have every right to defend themselves if they're being attacked. But they should not otherwise be shooting people dead; their job is to apprehend people and let the justice system ascertain their guilt or otherwise.

They should also be transparent and accountable in their actions, no losing of evidence and no closing ranks. As things currently stand, you, Arenaman, could be shot dead tomorrow by an armed officer and they could escape prosecution by claiming they perceived you as a threat or they were in fear of their life.

This is not justice being served, in my opinion.

Why is this so hard for you to understand? If you determine that a certain race is always a threat then they will be treated as such.

Dave Chapelle was pulled over by a cop. Dave is a world famous comedian, he was terrified and thought he was going to die. The cop knew Dave Chappelle and was offended that Dave would think that of him. Later on that same cop shot and killed a black man with a BB gun. As Dave quite rightly says, a black man shouldn't have to be Dave Chappelle to survive an encounter with the Police.

Can you prove 100% that is the case? No. Get off your high horse and stop treating every white person the same.

Why are you failing to grasp no one has been convicted and that is was racial :facepalm::facepalm:

Yes, I didn't like it when Tyson Fury did what he did and am still surprised as to how much it has been buried.

But it's not as simple as "boycott this because I say so" - its far more nuanced than your question makes it. What are the reasons for the white boxer doing this?

Some of your comparisons are very weak and don’t work in your argument whatsoever, Nabby.

Canada goose eh?! How about someone suggests boycotting their clothes because the factory has black workers?

joshua is suggesting to boycott business and economies based on the colour of peoples skin. That doesn’t sit well with me one bit.

We'll have to disagree on this then.

You're making a big assumption that this was racist because some black people are subjected to racism. You're putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5

Sorry I must have misread that the official outcome was "lawful"

I don’t want to imagine anything, I’d like us to stay with the facts and not fill in blanks. Yes I mean George Floyd. And yes he does have history.

PS. I really dislike your avatar, I find it offensive and reminds me of the nazi insignia who occupied my parents and grand parents estate.

Facts: OK. George Ford was dragged to the ground and murdered in a way that we would only normally see if a person was resisting arrest. The videos I have placed on this thread highlight the pervasive attitude of all black men being a threat. If this was the first time it has happened you may have had an argument. But 10+ times means that this is a now a fact.
The fact that he has history is 100% irrelevant.

You will need to take that up with the many Jewish writers of the TV show.

The younger generation seems just like the older generation.

Mental health struggles have been around for a king time. It's not a new thing.

Saying they have "no gender" is reductive. Views on gender are finally starting to take account if a person's identity and mindset rather than just what's between their legs.

The younger generations aren't the first to approve of socialism. They took inspiration from past generations.

Some want to destroy statues of slave traders. If that marks out the younger generation, good for them.

Who knows what they'll be like in X number of years? That's a story that hasn't been written yet. Just like it has been since humans started aging.

If you see them and our society's progressive moves as "pathetic", then I can only hope that all younger generations keep their pitiable state in years to come.

I'll ask again, has anyone been convicted and if they have was the killing on racial grounds? Facts only please not your screwed supposition.
