    HI all,

Been following the forum for a while now a think I'm going to join the 360 revolution in the next month or so.
My question relates to my impending visit to new york and whether it would be better for me to purchase a 360 out there and bring it back or take advantage of some of the good deals that are available from UK retailers (Gamestation for example).

Any views would be greatly appreciated, especially in relation to issues with importing (warranties, games working - region, power etc.....)

    Thanks.

With the deal Gamestation have at the moment I can't think of a single reason to buy an xbox from the states. Even with the solid pound, the difference is negligible and that is without running the risk of a customs charge (although you can probably get it in under gift status). There's issues with warranties, power cables etc. Unless you want an xbox that will play Region 1 DVDs I don't see the point - buy it here, fill up on games in New York.

Will all of the US games work on a UK 360?

I think with the 360 having a good back catalogue of second hand games, a lot of which have region encoding, I'd be tempted to stick with a UK machine.

You'll also be able to use the DVD playback facility (which will be region locked to the region you purchase from)

i would get it here because:
-you get better deals with the bundled games over here
-the cost isnt much cheaper (dont know why but hardware and accessories are almost on a par pricewise with ours even with the exchange rate)
    -may need stepdown/up power converter
-will not have a warranty which is a big risk
    -may have to import games

am sure there are some other reasons that i cant think of .

so in conclusion my advice is no.;)
