I've just upgraded to a plasma screen and now have the option to switch to a US xbox to take advantage of progressive scan and component out.

My question... is it really worth it? Am I going to see a significantly improved picture? At the moment I'm using an RGB out through a JS RGB - VGA box.

    Interested to get your opinions!

My understanding is that if you mod a UK box and then use the video format CD (don't know the proper name) to change it to NTSC (with HDTV modes available), then it pretty much is a US XBOX.

Get xbox chipped, change video to ntsc output (uk & us boxes are the same), get good component cable( imho not Game's) & you will get a better pic in prog scan. I use it for dvd play-back but not that effective as a dvd player.
