I have a UK psp and a US Tiger Woods and a mate has a Japanese psp and a US Tiger Woods. Recently we tried head to head and we couldn't "see" each other to connect.

I have since reported this to EA and the response is...

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us here at Electronic Arts Technical Support. I'm sorry that you’re having difficulties with Tiger Woods for the PSP.

Unfortunately you will need the same version of the PSP and the game. To be able to play the multiplayer feature of the game.

Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts games in the future please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase http://support.ea.com

    Thanks!

Ummm, Sony have said that from day one. Region doesn't matter with machines, only with software.

    It's common knowledge, mate :)

damn, not common to me. i was under the impression from reading posts that movies were region coded but the games were not.

ah well live and learn. the single player modes cool :)

The games aren't region coded (ie a US game will work on a JAP/UK PSP) but you won't be able to use a UK game for a multiplayer game with a US copy of the same game.

That's why I sold most of my US games and got the UK copies :)

ahh, get what your saying and no thats not what i mean. My friend and I BOTH have a US copy of Tiger Woods, just a UK and JPN psp.

Everyone has been saying as long as both games come from the same region it's ok, but as I have posted here, it's just not true in all cases. EA are saying you need the same region PSP AND game.

So you can "play" the game but you can't guarantee that multiplayer between 2 different region machines will work.

Ah right. That's very odd. I'd say that's a mess up on EAs part. I've used Wipeout US on a JPN machine against Wipeout US on a US machine. EA probably just messed up something with Tiger Woods.
