in the new What Hi-Fi
Get them to ring there Maidstone store....thats where i got mine from......
I ordered it on the saturday and paid the same day......£399.95.
I didnt get the feeling they were inclined to be that helpful unfortunately...... he did his best to deny that £399 was the price..... even told me it was £499 in october what hifi..... will have to go check for myself tomoz
Or ring the CS number and see what they say.
I went into a RS (Bromley) a few months ago to see if they had any HT2 bipole things.....they had one pair left and they charged me £19.95 for them.....i then rang the Sevenoaks branch to see if they had any and they did....when i got there he wanted to charge me £49.99 for them...i told him i had just brought some from Bromley for £19.95....he rang them to confirm the price and that is what i ended up paying......
So i cannot see a prob if you tell them that someone brought a Servo from the Maidstone branch for £399.95 and maybe he should ring them to confirm it.
im not sure how it works..... but im going to try and sort it tomorrow so i will let you know how it goes!
Im sorely tempted to just buy another servo with it...... i know i dont need it but im tempted! So im going to buy a rake of dvds if im successful!
I think you need to edit your sig Buns, thought the Servo had arrived? What do you think to it btw?
I've just ordered a 2nd one, its obscene really but what the hell? - at least my front soundstage will look balanced now
buns, if you need it I'll take the page out of WHF and post it to you, Ken.
Thanks Stranger, I need to do it asap so i think im best just to go in and point it out in their store what hifi! Or i'll buy one myself..... what issue is it?
Smurf: the bryston is the in transit thing! Hoping to get it monday! I figure 2 servos is way too much and anyhow, i havent even got listening to the first one yet!
It's in the latest issue (October) cut the actual ad. out and don't show them the full page-read it and you'll see why, or pm me. it says brand new boxed, so worth persevering. I've lent my scanner out or I would have sent you the relevant bit but it's obviously worth buying a copy anyway-good luck.
ah so there is a catch? They have a copy in store so if there is one its likely they will twig on it..... so what is it?
in the print at the bottom of the page it says 'available from 15sept to 24th oct.' but I've bought a few offers from them in the past and they've never held to those dates-also it looks like others have just bought this sub at this price, see chris 's post above.
ah right.... ok well hopefully this shouldnt be too much of a problem then...... the concept of doing that is a bit silly..... the prices should be valid from when the mag is published!
When I bought mine from the Leicester store on Thursday the staff were aware of the ad and didn't have a problem with it. Looking at some older magazines I think Richers got the date wrong as they usually date the offers to start about a week before the mag hits the streets and run them for about 6 weeks.
Now I've had a couple of days with my Servo 15 I'm over the moon with what it can do.
oh wow..... richer swear that they are looking at the ad and its £499..... so ring maidstone..... yeah £399...... but confirmation from store to store isnt enough! So i have me a what hifi..... clearly says £399...... so now im off for my moneys!
Just been to RS in Cambridge, paid for my 2nd servo 15 plus 5 years warranty....£419
Now lets hope the bugger turns up! I'm told it should be in the store on Tuesday, the day my M&Ks should be arriving too
Looks like I might be in for a busy evening
I asked at my local Richer Sounds yesterday. The assistant looked up the Servo 15 on their computer system and claimed there were 6 of them in their main warehouse and that the price was indeed £399.
well i got my money..... it just seems odd to me that everyone else is being quoted £399 without prompt and i had to fight! Ah well, all is well that ends well i guess. Thanks for the help
who dealt with you in the Belfast branch buns??
I know some of them can be a wee bit anal but they are normally good guys.
You're just saying that because you work there .
