Urgent Sky+ help please

    My box has been acting up for the last few weeks - it's done this before and Sky took me through a reformat/reset which solved the problem. Unfortunately, this time I had quite a bit of stuff recorded which I hadn't watched so I've been viewing it before I reformat. Invariably the box has done it for me and I now have nothing in my Sky planner. Could someone please tell me how to do the full reformat/reset so I can get the thing up and running for tonight.

    Thanks in advance. Before anyone says it, yes I have done a search but all the threads talk about a reset as if everyone knows how to do it...

    Press the following:

    Service
    4
    0
    1
    Select

    and then choose option 7 - Sky+ Planner rebuild

    Go into services,
    system setup,
    now for the hidden menu, press 0 1 select
    you should now be at the installer menu
    highlight full system reset
    (this will erase your hard drive!)
    it will come up with a housekeeping message and reset.

    when it is done, access the same menu system but this time go to sky planner rebuild (not essential but you might aswell go the full hog)

    now when it has done this its best to do a software download, to do this:
    unplus the box from the mains,
    hold in the back up button while you switch the power back on
    wait for the 4 coloured lights on the front centre to come on, when they do release the back up button and let it do its business, when its done it will turn to standby, leave it for a couple of minutes and youre ready to go!
