    Hi All

    Help :lease:

Having done quite a bit of searching here and elsewhere, I've narrowed it down to a Panasonic 32PD50 or Tosh 32zp46/48

Had a Tosh 32zp46 and it was great with the exception of a buzzing tube eventually diagnosed as faulty, Comet couldn't get us another so offered a refund (TV bought in Jan so can't complain). Currently leaving us with our old 21" sony :thumbsdow

Not interested in the sound as I already have a full amp/speaker setup, it's just picture quality/build quality and reliability. I'd be very interested to hear people's thoughts as I need to order it today

    Cheers

    V-lim

I think all 32PD50s are disappearing of the shelves as we speak....I think I may have got the last one from digital-point on friday last week, since they are now out of stock!

Crampton & Moore are offering PD50 at £599 and they are ADAMANT that they will have stock this week - spoke to them this morning.

I take delivery on Wed from JL, and will be going back to them for a further price reduction under the terms of their p.m. policy.

    Hope this helps.

I had this reply from Crampton & Moore last week (Thu 5th May)...

    "Re: 32PD50

    Hi

This model has now been discontinued by Panasonic, we are trying to get hold
of further stock but we are doubtful that this will be possible.

    Regards
    Crampton & Moore"

I'll be well peeved if they get more stock now :suicide:

I was going to order a 36ZP48 today and thought I would have a quick look at this forum for prices and feedback etc. I also sourced and setup a 32ZP48 for my mum, which I was really impressed with. It now seems that the Tosh does'nt support NTSC fully. I now have to decide whether this is a deal breaker for me as I have quite a few region 1 DVD's and a newly aquired PS2 that asks for 60Hz on my Sony every now and then.

Could someone advise as to the limitations of the NTSC support on the TOSH and if it is as big an issue as I'm making it.

    Thanks

    Mark

Wouldn't buy either of them to be perfectly honest, i can tell ya now that the panasonic will have geometry issues and the toshiba will have a very very faint whitish bar (like a dirty screen effect) running down the middle of the screen. It's very faint but very noticable to me during particular scenes. Your choice buddy. If i had to choose i would be choosing a plasma or small lcd.

Just realised you made your choice, good luck!

:nono: My only comment to the last post is B****IT, get on to your dealer, it's a fault and I can post 6 mega pixel RAW images to prove it.

I have no such issues with my 36ZP48 and can highly recommend it, I have run NTSC on it no problem through component I/O.

see my response on "Oh No Not another 36 CRT question" thread ....
