Hi
I currenctly have the follwing spec laptop:

Intel Core Duo 1.66ghz cpu
1 gig ram
geforce 7600 256mb gfx card
100 gig HD

Can I use this to get better upscaling results then a Samsung HD860 dvd player?

You certainly can upscale with it - I would reccomend ffdshow and theatertek software, whether it would be better that your DVD player is a subjective opinion. But, with ffdshow you can apply infinite tweaks so you should be able to achieve a very good result.

Ok
What cables do I need to connec t it all together. I have only one dvi port on my laptop.

Hi,

You need to have a software DVD player eg Theatre Tek installed on your lap top. This will replace your current DVD player when you connect the lap top to a monitor using an appropriate cable (DVI?).

If you have a DVI connection on your display then go for DVI to DVI, and you would also need to route the sound to your dispaly - or amp - via the audio out on your laptop.

ok I think Il need to get a DVI to HDMI lead as my plasma dont have a DVI connection.
