Please excuse me I am a total technophobe.

I have just purchased a Samsung UE40H6400 TV. I have been told that it is possible to upscale ordinary dvd`s to 3D. Is this possible? If so do I need any specialist equipment for this, ie blue ray dvd or can it be done via the tv using a normal dvd player. I know some of you may think this is a stupid question, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest play a dvd/blu-ray. Set your tv to convert 2d to 3d. Put on 3d glasses and see what happens

All it can do is to try to simulate a kind of 3d presentation from a DVD, bluray or normal tv transmission . It does not 'convert' or 'upscale'. It is a bit of a gimmick which most people soon abandon.

Agreed - have a play, then put it away
