I am looking to buy this tv but was wondering how it coped with regular SD programmes as I have heard some complaints about SD programmes on 32" full HD TV's. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm afraid you haven't much choice in the matter. All HD Ready and Full HD sets upscale SD transmissions in order to fill the screen. I cannot comment on the Toshiba but I have a 32" W4000 (Full HD) Sony that gives quite satisfactory results. Some sets are better than others with SD programmes.

My advice is to stick to the 32" size. The bigger the screen the less likely you are to be happy with SD. I think if you analyzed the comments on the Forum most of the complaints come from people with 46"+ size screens. Unless you are able to sit a fair distance away you are more than likely to be dissatisfied.

Best advice is to go out and have a look. Bear in mind Analogue transmissions will always give the worst results. Check out Freeview.
