Sorry if this is a stupid question - got my ex75 today and hooked it up to Panny Viera via HDMI cable, and from normal sky digital box as described in the manual using scart lead. Also had to put scart lead from ex 75 to panny tv

1) what is the need for scart lead from ex 75 to panny tv if HDMI cable is connected? is this essential- surely signal from sky box should be transmitted from ex75 via HDMI??
2)Does the ex75 upscale the sky digital picture automatically when hdmi lead connected?
3) Similarly, does the ex75 upscale retail dvd's automatically when hdmi lead connected or do you need to change any settings?

Sorry if this seems really dull, but first time ive ever used HDMI
Cheers for your help

The purpose of the scart is to transfer Qlink information. It isnt vital unless you want that function.

It depends on the capabilities of your display device and the HDMI settings in your EX75

If you put the EX75 onto 'Automatic' in the HDMI settings it should give you the best configuration for all variables.

Thanks for that, but when i remove the scart lead from the ex75 to the Viera PV500, the picture and sound goes, even tho the viera is on HDMI input - any ideas??

Will change the ex75 settings for HDMI to automatic - thank you !!

See pages 51 and 59 of the manual regarding issues surrounding Q link and HDMI and see what is applicable to your set up.

The setting on page 51 probably has some relevance to your problem. Set it acccording to your set-up.
