Upscaling dvd player with a HDMI input (as well as output)

Hi,

Thread title says it all really, im after a dvd player which has hdmi input as well as output. My tv only has 1 input so I want to connect my ps3 > dvd player > tv, saves getting a hdmi splitter box. I've had a quick look and cant seem to find any, also did a search of this forum and nothing found!

So anyone got any suggestions?? Only requirements are that its black and would be nice to have usb input too. I will also consider home cinema systems if anyone has any suggestions on these which would do the job.

I think you may spend a long time looking for something that isnt there.I dont think that what you want exists !

Your best bet would be an HDMI switch box, 4 in 1 out are available for less than £50 now. Keep an eye on the sales Forums as well.

Your logic astounds me.
You would rather replace your dvd player, than buy a relatively inexpensive splitter box.
As Comic Book Guy said....what you are asking for does not exist.
Sure...you could go down the home cinema route, and the results would be great. You could plug everything into an A/V Receiver no problem, but i dont think your wanting that expense.

I take it you have a significant amount of non region 2 dvd's, hence your reason for not simply using your PS3 for playing dvd's?

I thought they may not exist because I did look, theres a couple of sony home cinema systems that have hdmi input as well as output so I thought there might be a standalone player that does it too.

My current player isn't hdmi so thats the reason for replacing it, my ps3 is very noisy which really annoys me during films so Id rather have a nice quiet player rather than use that!

Guess il go down the splitter route then, il have a look round and try find a nice cheap one! Thanks again for the replies.
