Hi, I'm running an LG 37" RZ-37LZ31 HD LCD Panel, a Sony DVD-NS900, and an Xbox 360 amongst other things. I run both the 360 and the Sony through component outputs to the TV. The picture quality on both is excellent for their respective uses, but when I play a DVD copy, the picture is not so hot on the Sony. Changing the disc to the Xbox improves the PQ ever so slightly. Obviously the Xbox is improving the PQ by upscaling the pic, but my real question is would the PQ be greatly improved by buying a dedicated upscaling DVD player such as the Pio 696? Would the picture quality improve with both original and copied discs using this player and would I notice the improvement from component out on my Sony to an upscaled picture from the Pio. Thanks chaps.
