Upscale twice ??

I don`t have a DVD recorder yet.

But what I was wondering was if I had an upscaling DVD and a TV would it be upscaled twice or can I disable the upscaling on the DVD or TV depending on which is best?

Am I correct in thinking that the upscaler in a £250 DVD or so be worse than the one in the TV.?

The only way of upscaling once is to..

1) Buy a 1080p scaling DVD player, 1080p screen
2) Buy a 720p scaling DVD player, 1280x720 screen

So there will only be one scaling process. For 1366x768 LCD screens it'll require further upscaling when fed with 720p.
