I've decided to upgrade my mac pro (2008) model, by adding a SSD in the bottom optical bay.
However, my current Boot HD is 1TB, and I'm only looking to get a 250GB SSD. In a clean install, I would install the operating system on the SSD, and then have all my documents, music and other data on one of the internal HDs.
Is there a way of doing what I want without having to do a complete re-install. Could I do this from a time-machine backup for instance?
Also is it as simple as dragging the Users Folder over to one of the internal drives, and for the OS to remember that is the location for documents etc? Or would it be application specific?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
