Hi all
I've had the same separates system since I bought it 20 odd years ago.
My old Mission speakers have now gone to a better place and I'm thinking about using this as an excuse to improve the system starting with the speakers.
I would like some floorstanders and the set that has caught my eye are the Focal Chorus 714 V 's currently selling at "half price". Divine Audio Focal Chorus 714 V Floor-Standing Speakers, Black (Pair)
Obviously these speakers are head and shoulders above my old amp which is a Rotel RA-930AX.
Is this likely to cause a problem? Could I damage either the amp or much worse the speakers?
I was also thinking of connecting them to my surround sound system which is a Yamaha RX-V367. This isn't that old but again is entry level. Yamaha RX-V367 review - Surround Sound System - Trusted Reviews
- So am I wasting my time (& money) going for the Focal's?
- Am I likely to have any problems?
- Should I just do the (financially) sensible thing and buy some Wharfedale Diamond 10.3's instead.
Upgrading the Rotel and the Yamaha arent an option at the moment - with a wifie around this will have to be a long term plan changing bits as they "break"......... if you know what I mean
Many thanks for your advice - off for a lie down now.
