Hello all,

I'm currently using Sonos through my stereo system and listening with good results. But I'm getting an upgrade itch so I want to know how to improve the sound with a dac. My current set up:

Rotel 1062 amp
B&W modified 685 speakers with Mundorf supreme caps
Sonos zp90 as transport
Beresford 7520 modified dac with ths 4032op amps
Transparent cables
Music source MOG 320kbps streaming

So my question is with the Sonos zp90. The incoming signal is 16/44 would my 24 bit dac up sample the music or do I need to start thinking of a new transport?

Thanks

You are currently limited to 16/44 by the Sonos

TBH as you already have a modded Beresford DAC and the source is 320kpbs I don't see how a change in DAC would improve things.

Agreed, upgrade the source of your music to start with. Anything else is a waste of time until you are at least supplying lossless CD quality ALAC or FLAC files to the system.

Cheers,

Chris.
