Hi All,

I bought a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" from the forums last week and still trying to get my head around it. (PC user for 25 years)

Now I have upgraded the memory from 4gb to 8gb (it's so cheap I had too:thumbsup:)

I am now considering a 500gb Hybrid HD or a WD 500gb Scorpio Black 7200rpm HD to replace the 320gb (5400rpm).

My question is it still has 10months Applecare to run and I planon extending it but wondered if changing memory and hard drive would make it void?

Cheers

The official user guide from Apple has a section on upgrading such - and therefore, you're OK on the warranty as long as these are done without obvious damage.

for the MBP, the RAM and HDD are considered user serviceable and thus you won't void the APP, however I would keep the old RAM and HDD and whack it in should ever need to take your laptop in or have it sent off!
