I want to improve the quality of reception of the BBC/ITV free to view channels and have decided that the way to go is a Sky digibox with Freesat card (I currently have an ancient terrestrial Freeview box but the picture quality is variable).

I have a good size dish with twin analogue LNB for analogue satellite reception of the Astr analogue channels. I could live without the analogue reception and was wondering how much I should expect to pay for conversion of the system to digital. Is it simply a question of replacing the LNB and putting a Sky digibox at the other end ?

If so what should a suitable (single) LNB cost and which are the best Sky boxes to go with ? Are there any reliable sources of the box at a reasonable discount to the prices at which Sky and most of the dealers sell them ?

I really don't want to involve Sky in the installation process.

    Thanks.

Well get a decent Freeview box as the bit rate on DTTV is better than DSTV
