I've had a Screenplay 4800 (actually an IBM iLV300, but with the Screenplay firmware!) for the last 3 years and it's time for an upgrade.
I've been considering the Optoma HD720X but notice that the brightness and contrast ratios are pretty much equal, so apart from the resolution, will I notice a great deal of improvement in picture quality - I've heard that there have been huge improvements over the last couple of years.
I'd consider the HD70, but I really need a dark case, as the ceiling in the cinema room is midnight blue.
Would it be worth the extra wait (and 2.5 times the cash!) to go for something like the upcoming HD80X?
All thoughts appreciated.
