The old Sky box packed up and Sky have replaced it with a new Sky HD box. When upgrading to SkyHD is it as simply as logging into the account online and adding HD? Also as I already have the box I shouldn't get any installation charges right? just the extra £10 a month.

If the machine is being delivered then you don't have to do anything more than move the connections to it, and have the card "paired" to it.
You can pay nothing for only the free HD channels, or £5 a week for Entertainment Extra+ HD channels, or £10.25 for that and Movies and/or Sports HD channels.

Well the engineer has already been and replaced the old knackered box with a SkyHD box and paired the card to the box. So I know I have the free HD channels but I want the HD versions for everything else I get, Sports, Entertainment etc.. So all I need to do is log into the account online and add the HD upgrade?

I assume they will know I have a HD box and only need the HD subscription added.

As I have the equipment already all it will cost is an extra £10.25 a month, no other installation cost.

Is it really that time consuming to check yourself? :D

Like the man said, but the "box" can't have been paired, otherwise it would already have all the channels - do ring them to get it done properly, this one time - nothing to pay.
I'm actually surprised that they sent a man to do it for free rather than simply sending the new machine.

Lol, fair point. I log in later and check.

I guess they sent someone to make sure the fault was the box. The card has been paired fine, I have all my channels including the sports channels. Just not the HD channels that aren't free as I don't yet have a HD subscription.

No, not the engineer, Sky don't use them for this. They use installers.

    Ok, the installer then.

    Anyway, all sorted now.
