hi to everyone at av forums. hoping someone can give me a bit of advise. my toshiba mt8 projector (same as infocus 7200) has recently developed a fault which means it can no longer power up but has a continuous flicking of the standby switch. as they are so costly to repair i am looking for a new projector but want one with as good a spec for up to £2000. it has to have the same throw ratio as well. many thanks Dale (new member)

my MT8 has also recently developed this fault.

A bit of searching revealed several US people having paid upwards of $500, a few years ago admittidly, to repair the faulty power board.

Do you have any info about repairs/costs in the UK?

Toshiba UK now refer out of warranty servicing to a 3rd party company (Equinox) who want a non-refundable £70 to look at it and £1.50 per min just to talk to them!
