    Hello,

Before I rush off and purchase a new Velodyne cht-10r, I'd like some advice on whether to do this OR buy a whole new 5.1 speaker package? at the moment im using a Yamaha 1500 with,

    2x AE AEGIS Two
    1x AE centre
    2x AE compact surrounds

Now the question is what would be more of an upgrade that would improve my HC pleasure to just add' a Velodyne and stick with it like this for a year or two OR to go for a package like these below with new speakers and a sub but no Velodyne :( ?

    KEF KHT2005.2 £599

Acoustic Energy AEGIS EVO 3b Home Cineama Speaker package £680

Max budget is £799 as im upgrading PJ at the same time :)

I haven't heard the Aegis but from the comments that I have read I don't see it's replacement by a KEF Egg system as being an upgrade.

    Hello Ian. :)

So you think my current floorstanders would kick the floor with most newer sat packages then? All im after really mate is a better HC experience whether thats buying a Velodyne sub now and upgrading the speakers to something like the Mordaunt Short THX pack when funds allow, about 1-2 years or getting a replacment package now like the kef's and or the AE3 package, but
having a rather naff sub compared to the Velodyne, :( so many upgrades so little funds you see :D

Hi dinoprada2003, if you go for the Velodyne you will not regret it, I bought one and everything I play seems different(better) it's like having a new system

If you are happy with the mid range and treble from your present system a decent subwoofer will provide more slam which you won't really get from a lifestyle sub / sat combination like the KEF Eggs.

I can't say what benefits changing your complete system to the Aegis Evo 3b would be though as I haven't heard it.
