    Taken me all morning!

ANYWAY, I have just upgraded my amp to a Pioneer VSX d912 and started on my speakers.

    I need

    - New Fronts
    - New Centre
    - New Sub

I am not mega flush, so 4-500 quid is my limit!

I have seen the Mission M74is for 200 quid, and I liked the sound of those, so what now?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Help me avforums, you're my only hope.............

I've just bought the D912 aswell. I've also replaced all my speakers. After alot of chopping and changing as to what I was going to buy, I went for Mordaunt Shorts in the end. I went with the 902's [£110 Peter Tyson] for the front, 302's [£99 Peter Tyson] for the rear, 905 [£120 Hifibitz] for the centre and picked up a nice ex demo Alpha One sub [£200 Hifi4less] to round it off. I must say that I am well impressed with both the amp and the speaker set up. Saying that, what is good for me is not necessarily good for someone else. Another speaker for your shortlist would be the 7 range Missions.

    Hi spidermanhalf
The monitor audio bronze b2 bookshelf-centre-asw100 subwoofer can be had for around 500 quid(internet) they are great with movies and very musical, most sevenoaks stock them try and get a demo.
You can get the full package Bfx rears included from hifi bitz for 650 quid all in.
    Cheers Gonzo.
PS sevenoaks do give discounts so dont be scared to ask.

If you are getting a sub, then the M74i's are overkill IMO. Let the sub take care of the bass and look for smaller floorstaders or some nice bookshelf models such as Gonzo suggests.

Oh, and the Pioneer is on the bright side of neutral, so beware of bright-sounding tweeters - like Mission's M7 range unfortunately. :(
Wharfedale Diamonds go well with some Pioneer amps IMO. Kef too.

Went to home cinema heaven, as their shop is near me, bought loads of stuff (over budget hey ho) but I could not get the sound right so took half of it back, and they swapped it no questions!

Champion guys! AND they threw in loads of free stuff (sub cable, speaker wire and some stands), and gave me at least a 20 quid discount on each item i bought!
