    Hi Everyone,

I am considering upgrading my Yamaha DSP-A5, but i am stuck onto what amp / reciever to get. As not all the mags give you a list of inputs an amp has could anyone recommend a budget piece of kit which can acommadate the following:

Component inputs - 3 if possible
S-Video inputs (enogh for dvd / dreamcast / Video)
    Phono Input (MM)
    Pro Logic II
Dolby Digital / DTS 6 channel
    Enough inputs for the following:
    cd
tuner (if not already built in)
    tape
    md (not essential)
    Sky Digital + (digi audio)
    Video
    DVD (digi audio)
    Xbox(digi Audio)
    Gamecube

I like the look of the new Yamaha RSV630 jobbie, but it does not
have phono, and only 2 component ins. I am willing to pay more than this amp just to get the extra features, so if anyone has any advice, it will be greatly appreciated

P.S anyone know how much i could sell a perfect nick 2 year old DSP-A5 for???? (do Richer sounds still do exchanges?)

    Thanks for your help

    Nick B

I think you may struggle with a phono input and 3 component inputs, my rotel only has 2 component inputs, and most other mid price stuff seems limited to 2 inputs.

I wouldn't worry about the phono input, for about 40 quid you could have a separate project phono or NAD phono stage, which should be at least as good as anything on a Yamaha or similar amp.
