    Hi all

I am thinking of upgrading my DVD Player. At the moment I have a Denon DVD700 connected through component to a Panny Viera 37PE30.

I have looking at the Denon 2910, would I notice the difference between the 2 players through component on my viera or would It need HDMI conection to be noticeable.
The Amp I ahev is a Denon 2805, is the 2910 a better sound delivering player than the DVD700.
    Any thoughts much appreciated,

    Goons

The 2910 is the natural partner to your amp, and from that point of view would be a natural choice. However if you do not listen to multichannel music I would consider it overkill. The 1910 offers a more consistent alternative to your present player, with DVI out for digital connectivity (a simple cable/convertor will feed your HDMI) if you wish. As it does not cater for multichannel music, it is also much cheaper, but still performs well with cd. Personally, while my DVD-A and SACD collections are very small, I don't regret opting for the 2910.

    Thanks for the info.

My Panny does not have HDMI or DVI input so the player would be connected through Component, I take it the 1910 or 2910 would still would give a better PQ than my DVD700.

I am not bothered about SACD or DVD-A so the 1910 if PQ is alot better on Componenet would probably be my choice

    Thanks for any further advice

I would say go for the 1910 then. Generational improvements should see better measurable performance. Wether that translates to visual improvements can only be determined by watching...
