My Sky+ box seems to be on its last legs - suspected HDD issue. I am thinking about upgrading the HDD to a drive up to 500gb.

But, am I write in thinking if I call Sky (my box is not under warranty) they will send out an engineer who will fix/replace the box for the set fee of £65.

If this is true, then it saves me having to buy a HDD, open the box, swap and maybe run Copy+.

I had thought about that but I don't have a HD TV yet. The missus isn't willing to upgrade the TV yet!!!.

    Chicken and egg.......

An extra £14 for a (£199??), HD box - no brainer. The £10/mo HD subscription will encourage the wife to upgrade the TV - Just tell her how great the footy is in HD.
