    Hi All,

I have just wired this system up using the yamaha rxv620 to power the rear and centre channels and the rotel ra1060 for the fronts.
I am using the outputs from the yamaha to the aux1 on the rotel.

I have an optical cable from my nad t532 to the yamaha for watching dvd (dts) but also have rca's to the rotel in the cd inputs for listening to music.

Yamaha - centre / rear speakers - (nad optical connection)
    Rotel - front speakers - (nad rca's)

Is this the best way of doing this? With my equipment.

Alternatively can anyone suggest an amp/receiver with the musical quality of the rotel and the features of the yamaha (dts etc)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, it is connected correctly.

Comparable AV amps would be the Arcam AVR300. But I would still prefer the Rotel for stereo duties. However an AVR solution doesn't require the two volumes and the mixing of amplification for the front & centre speakers.

How is the NAD for CD duties? I would have thought that the Rotel would be held back, and perhaps a dedicated CD-P would offer some improvements.

    Thanks for reply.

I think the nad is a pretty good cd player as far as dvd players go.

I would prefer cd/dvd (one unit) and AV/stereo amp (one unit).
Thats why I am considering getting a really good quality AV amp.

Are there any really good dvd players with outstanding cd sound quality?

    Yes, the Arcam.

But I suppose we should be asking the usual questions, ie budget, hi-res music formats, 5.1 or 7.1 for the amp. Is using a DAC an option?

Perhaps you would also get a better response by posting this question in another forum.
