I currently have a Pioneer 656a dvd player.
My question to the forum is, should I upgrade to a progressive scan player and ,if so, should the budget extend up to £300 ? (Denon 1920?)
I am currently using a Panasonic PD50 (no HD yet) and although this has component inputs, I feel that the full potential of the tv is not being exploited by only using RGB for viewing dvd's.
    Ta :lease:

I have the PW6 and had the 565, deciding to upgrade to the 757 as it has PAL prog scan. To be honnest, apart from more settings, I didn't notice a difference in the image and noticed jaggies on some discs with Pal prog scan "on" a disc which disappeared when turned off.
Given this, I wouldn't have upgraded but sometimes, you just have to go for it!

I used to have a Pioneer 525 and used RGB which was great but the difference between that and my 757's component connection has been like night and day. Everything in the picture improved a hell of alot (although the 525 was quite old compared to the 757 so maybe it was that).

I would go for it if I were you as the 757 can be picked up quite cheap 2nd hand. I'm sure you could get it for under £200. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
