Having recently purchased the Eggs I would like to upgrade both my DVD player and Amp. I currently have a Samsung 709 and a Yamaha RX-V496RDS.
The sound at the moment is very bland, a bit boomy and I cannot play many disks (CD-R/RW amongst others) on the Samsung hence the need for an upgrade.

I am looking for advice on AMPs and players that go well with the Eggs

The Amp has to have all the toys, i.e. Prologic II, DTS ES etc but additionally it must be good with music and something that will make the most of the Eggs

I can spend around £800 on both the player and Amp

Current thoughts are the Pioneer 656 and the Marantz 6300

    Any thoughts/experience/opinions?

    Thanks
