    Hi,

I'm after some advice as to which of the following upgrades I should be saving for next, and if the amount I'm planning on saving for will give me enough of an upgrade or if I would much more of a benefit from saving a little more.

Priority of this upgrade will be to improve CD playback, without compromising AV performance and not adding an additional set of front speakers.

My current kit list is in my sig.

    Option 1
£600 on a 3 channel power amp, and use my Yammy as a pre amp
£700 on a dedicated CD player

    Option 2
£600 on a 3 channel power amp, and use my Yammy as a pre amp
£700 on a pair of floorstanders

    thanks in advance

DAC to add to your DVD-V player better than a CD player
Stereo amp into your system in some fashion

DAC will also be able to be used for Sky+ digital radio in stereo.

Forgot to say better CD replay is tied intrinisically to the stereo ability of your amp IMHO. BTW If that is a Denon 3910 DVD-V I would assume you probably have the equivalent of a £400-500 CD player there already FWIW.

any recomendations for a standalone DAC?

This is why I want to get the power amp, but it has to be 3 channel as I want to keep the front three channels balanced sonicly. I've looked at the 6 channel rotel, and I'm also looking at a second hand p90/3, are they any good for stereo?

Use the search facility above Brian been covered a few times.

Power amp hmmmm, its the quality of the pre-amp that is the stumbling block I would feel, saying that a few people note big increases in performances beefing up their front PAs FWIW, thats where I bale out of this thread being an integrated stereo man.
