Upgrade advice

Hello

I have a D60, kit lens, 35mm af-s 1.8 and fully-manual 70-300 lens (all nikon).

I'm wanting a bit more from my camera (quality-wise), would it be sensible to upgrade to a D90 for example, or stick with the D60 and invest in better glass? I'm just wondering whether or not I'll actually reap the benefits of the any new glass with the D60??

I shoot all sorts, all in either shutter/aperture priority.

Thanks in advance.

Always a tricky one - the benfit of new lenses is that will hopefully last a lot longer than a body, the problem it is a quick way to burn money unless you buy very wisely.

The D90 does get rave reviews jomike of this parish has one so maybe drop him a PM.

D60 to D90 is quite a big jump in terms of IQ and features.

Being a D90 user myself, I would think that a new body would bring some pretty big improvements.

Do you know anybody who has a D90 that you can have a play with?
Try that body on YOUR Lens' ?

You could go into Jessops,... with your own SD card... and Your lens and camera, and take some "Set pictures" with both bodies, and your lens.... then take them home to study.

Would give you an idea, as the picture subject and lighting conditions will be the same.

Jessops will let you leave the confines of the shop, and take some pics in natural light too, as long as you leave your other kit and bag in the shop with them (so they know you're not about to do a runner with their kit!)

Hope this helps

Thanks Mark; unfortunately all my photography mates are Canonites... ( ), I did before getting the D60 borrow my brother-in-laws D70 which itself was better than the D60.

Great suggestion about Jessops, cheers.

Before I bought my D90... I borrowed a D80... and the D90 is quite a bit better than that.

Could be time for a Body upgrade!
