    Hi all

I got myself a Sony Ericsson W980 last month and I'm wondering what is the best and most reliable way of updating the phone's software?

    1) Using the mobiles built in software update feature.
    2) Or the Sony Ericsson phone software update application for Windows Vista.

I don't want to kill the phone by using an unreliable method.

Definately the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) using your pc.

You should have received the software with your SE phone. If not, it is available for download on their website.

Agree entirely that SEUS is the best option. I would recommend ignoring the version that came on CD with the phone and going straight for the latest version on the SE website.

If you do it via the phone itself, you'll have a 200MB+ file to download first which will take a long time, even on WiFi.

Do it via SEUS on your PC and make sure you take a decent backup first ;)
