    quick question

whats the cheapest receivers available than do an upconversion to component. all these damn cables to the tv are annoying me now, not to mention explaining to the missus how to switch from dvd to sky every week...

The Yammy DSP-AX750 and 757 do it as far as i know.
Cost about £360 or so if you shop about.

Sweeping generalization here..... but why is it that women always need constant reminders of how to operate these things. I went away the other week and the girlfriend gave up trying to watch a DVD on the projector as she couldn't work out how to get the image onto the screen... After a brief discussion it turns out she couldn't find the PJ remote, even though it was practically right next to the DVD remote on the tv stand

also read about people pushing the sky through a DVDR source with component as the output, can anybody spread some light on this please. could be a cheaper alternative.

I've seen this done with a Hitachi LCD and a Panasonic DVD recorder - worked fine, though you do lose automatic aspect switching.

ive seen the up coming denon 4806 will have upconversion to HDMI, which would be nice but prob cost a small fortune.

does anyone know of any other amps appearing that will have such a feature?
