Unlocking a T-Mobile Sidekick 2

I'm considering getting a T-Mobile Sidekick 2 that's locked to T-Mobile in the UK, but I currently have a pay monthly SIM with O2 that's under contract for another 8 months, so does anyone know if its possible to unlock a Sidekick? I found this but I'm wondering whether it would work or not-

I didnt think that Sidekicks could be unlocked I know Tmob will not supply a Subsidy pin to unlock them but would for anyother phone
