Universal Active Shutter Glasses

    Hi, I own toshiba regza 42vl683 passive 3d tv and just bought my father the 46tl868 thinking (or rather not thinking) he could use my glasses...oops its active dad... that means you need to shell out at least another fifty pound...or maybe these universal glasses work on ebay ? anyone have a pair of universals please...do they work ? any links...thanks

    There is no universal active glassess.
    Even different models of same manufacturer cannot use one or the other.

    You are stuck with buying the maufacturer one at whatever cost they cahrge.

    It is unwise to buy an active 3D TV without free glassess bundle or count the cost of the glasses.

    If you do not intend to watch 3D, why buy it?

    Mmmm there is universal shutter glasses and some say blueetooth too and I wondered what the benifits of the bluetooth ones are...go ebay and check them out they are quite cheap and state the various tv models they work with, just have not seen any posts from any owners of these glasses.

    They are "universal" as such that they all use bluetooth.
    But I would not rely very much on the information alone until it has been tested "for a considerable time".

    Have a look at xpand glasses which can do Bluetooth and ir. :)
