Hi I got three unifi lites and a outdoor unit and cloud key installed yesterday. All was working fine until I decided to mess with advance networks and priorities on 5ghz. Things started failing after that. So like a idiot and not knowing much about the system I deleted my profile on my cloud key and reset it back up. I did not realise the AP will stay locked to old account. I have been onto help with two different people who say they will pass it on up the chain. The disc are working and giving a WiFi signal, problem is I can’t access them on my cloud key. They show up as managed by other. I have tried every reset option possible including pin at reset button for over 20 seconds. Each time the disk always revert to solid blue and have internet connection. Any help much appreciated.

Mac or Windows user? You are going to have to SSH into each AP and reset it. Whatever you do, DO NOT disconnect your APs when trying to reset / re-adopt them, you can brick them!

Hi I have a PC. Now a dumb question is how do I SSh into each AP

I tried Putty yesterday and got error saying network invalid

I put the IP address of the AP in and go?

I get Network error connection refused

The other thing if I do get in I don’t know the password for the old cloud account these were setup on. The disks at the moment are working fine, I just can see them with the cloud controller and I did turn mesh off at each disk. I want to get back to a factory reset and have it setup like when I first had it inatslled. System was running at around 95%, when I started to tinker it dropped to under 30 and I started having problems. That’s when I made the mistake of removing my account from the smart key and setting up again. Did not realise the disks are linked to the first account

From PuTTY type the following:

ssh ubnt@ip_address_of ap

wait, it will ask for a password, it is : ubnt

wait

if it lets you in you will see the ssh interface of the AP

set-default

that should reset the AP to factory

I get this

Just a thought, I am trying to access this and use over WiFi, do I need to connect the disk directly via Ethernet into my laptop?

Tried again putting in [email protected], getting same connection refused, again accessing via WiFi and not direct cable connection to AP

I would connect your laptop to your switch / router via a cable, yes

also leave ubnt@ off the IP. Just putthe IP of the AP into the address line

I now get connection error connection timed out

Same with or without ubnt, connection timed out

Yes as the disc I am trying to access has now disappeared of my cloud page as there is no internet connection to it.

When I try pinging the disk I am currently connected to, it says this.

Blue flashing

That suggest wrong IP address, though some device no longer answer ping.

Using the same CMD window you did for ping, shortly after pinging try an "arp -a"

This shows the IP to MAC Address resolutions and see if you can spot the IP-MAC pearrings for your AP's. If not there, it might that you have the wrong IP address.

On WIndows, the ARP cache times out pretty quickly, so one needs to not hang about, tough we're talking minutes rather than seconds.
